The COMPLETE 2015 SEO Guide – Basic to Advanced SEO Course
What is the best SEO secret that you know?
I get asked this question all of the time and there’s not really a good answer to this question because SEO isn’t about finding a “silver bullet” or a magic trick. It takes a lot of research, strategy, development and execution.
Amongst other things, powerful search engine optimization depends upon many things like:
- Hiring the right personnel.
- Using the right tools for the specific job.
- Giving away freebies.
- Proper inter-linking of pages.
But perhaps this is my biggest secret…
You need to create a detailed digital marketing blueprint that covers who your competition is, how you can beat them, and exactly what process you will need to implement to accomplish the job.
What is a digital marketing blueprint?
Well, let’s use an analogy… A digital marketing blueprint is to your business as an architect’s blueprint is to your house.
Too often, business owners seem to think that building a website is like “Field of Dreams” and that if they build it people will magically come. They seem to forget that it took a bunch of work to build the field in the first place. Plus, Ray Kinsella had to drive all the way to Boston to find Terence Mann. That’s not a short trip from Iowa.
Anyhow, my point is that most business owners seem to jump to the end of “building their house.” They want to paint the walls and decorate the rooms before they’ve drawn up a blueprint, hired a contractor, laid the foundation, built the framing, and then put up the drywall. They skip about 34 important steps and then they end up with a shaky website.
So the best SEO secret is to make sure that you flesh out your plan of attack.
What is your site about?
How is it different and better than everything else on the Internet?
What are the main topics of your site?
Once you’ve answered these questions, then you want to draw out the structure of your site kind of like this:
When you use this kind of silo structure, you’ll need about 1/10th the number of links to outrank your competition. But you want to take it a step further.
After you determine how your site’s content will be laid out, then you need to figure out how many links each page will need to get them to rank for the keyword you’re focusing on. Because you don’t want to simply create hundreds of inbound links directly to your homepage. You want to spread them out over your entire site.
That said, you also don’t want to overdo the link building either because they will simply get you slapped by Google. Instead, you want to create just enough powerful links to each page on your site. So, a major part of a digital marketing blueprint is determining how many links each page will need.
Finally, a big mistake that many business owners make is to create the entire site and then launch it all in one go. But there are two problems with this method:
- You have to wait a lot longer to actually launch your site.
- Google loves sites that are updated frequently.
Regarding #2, simply create a 10-12 page site, launch it, and then add content on a regular basis.
Well, that’s my opinion… a proper and thorough digital marketing blueprint make take longer up front but it will get results much faster than building a site without one.
Succeed In Business By Mastering The Art Of Search Engine Optimization
If you already have a website, you surely know that a top position in the search engines is vital for success. The following information will give you plenty of ideas that you can use to improve your search engine rankings.
Understanding what SEO means is imperative to your SEO marketing success. In its simplest form, the search engines use algorithms to rank websites, and SEO optimizes your site to be ranked higher by them. By following these steps you will find your site showing up at the top of the results page every time.
Search engines factor in several things when they consider your ranking. Having keywords in your headings is one thing search engines look for on your site. They also consider the links to, from and inside your site as well as its overall level of activity.
It is time consuming to improve your search ranking.
Make sure the content of your site appeals to search engines. Placing keywords related to your product line in your website text will help increase your standing in the search results. If your keywords aren’t getting you the ranking results you want, be sure to use them in any titles on your site.
When you type in a search term on popular search engines, you might have noticed a list of “featured results.” If you pay, you could put your website there. If you are looking to pay to get your website on the first results page, this is the only way to do it.
Links provide additional optimization benefits above and beyond the results you get by tweaking keywords. By adding links to additional pages, you can guide your visitors to more of your site. In addition, you could link out to other websites and politely ask them to return the favor.
Targeted visitors are those members of your potential customer base who are most likely to do business with you. There will be plenty of people who come across your site by accident. Unfortunately, these visitors rarely produce any actual sales. Successfully attracting targeted visitors requires techniques such as advertising on related sites and using relevant search terms.
Every good business marketing plan needs a well-developed website. If you get your business over the internet, then a great website is even more important for you. If you can optimize your site, you will watch your business grow. This article will help you get started on getting your website up to speed.
